Lucille Hood, 85, Concordia, died Feb. 15, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born May 2, 1923 at Miltonvale, KS, the daughter of Albert Peter and Emma (Girard) Paquette. She attended grade school at District 36, Miltonvale, and graduated high school in 1941 in Clyde, KS. In her youth, she worked at Locks Drug Store and the Beatrice Creamery, Concordia. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Hood Plumbing & Electric. Lucille married Ralph H. Hood on Nov. 25, 1943 in Concordia. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Lucille was also a member of the Cloud County Health Center Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and St. Ann Society. Lucille is survived by her sons, Dr. Robin P. Hood and wife Annette & John R. Hood and wife Joyce, both of Concordia, KS; her daughters, Jeanne Larson and husband Thayne, Belleville, KS and Marsha Ryser and husband Dan, Houston, TX; her sister, Lena Hamel, Clyde, KS; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wed., Feb. 18, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM and Vigil services at 6:30 PM , Tues., Feb. 17, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Notre Dame Scholarship Trust.
