IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lyle E.
Lagasse
October 17, 1931 – September 8, 2009
Our Almighty God and Savior called his faithful follower, Lyle E. Lagasse, home on September 8, 2009. Lyle was born Oct. 17, 1931 in Rice, KS to Ernest & Isabel Lagasse. He spent his childhood helping on their family farm. Lyle graduated from Kansas State College with a BS in Agriculture. He married Ruth Young on August 10, 1952. They spent 35 special years together. After her death, Ruth's family continued to hold a special place in Lyle's heart and life. On Feb. 14, 1990 Lyle married Beverly Lovelace. A family member said those were the happiest days of Bev's life. Even after Bev's death, Lyle continued to care for her father. The Lovelace family remained active in and continued to enrich his life. On Nov. 28, 2000, Lyle married Ann Cross. For a third time, a family was blessed with his unfailing love and generosity. Not only was he a devoted husband, but he took another family in as his own son, daughter and grandchildren. Too soon he was taken from our lives but we are eternally grateful for the time we had together.
Lyle enlisted in the Air Force in 1954. His highly decorated service included medals for: Joint Service Commendation, Air Force Commendation, Maintaining Security of the Nation and Weapons Controller badge. Lyle retired after serving 20 years in the US Air Force including 8 years at NORAD COC. Lyle was Commander of the 708
th
Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron. Upon retiring, Lyle went into the construction business later owning and operating Anchor Construction. Lyle loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting his Sis in
Lyle was a true disciple of God. His Christian foundation started early in his life and continued to grow in strength. He served as an Elder at the Grace Presbyterian Church. He dedicated many years of service as the Stated Clerk in the Rocky Mountain Presbytery.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth and wife Beverly and brother-in-law Norman Manz. Lyle is survived by wife Ann, sister Jean Manz, step children RaeAnn & Wayne Gransbery and Rodney & Leah Cross, grandchildren Thomas Gransbery, Renee & Shane Cross, niece Kari & Hector Garcia their son Mychael and nephews Kevin & Kim Manz.
Lyle was a true inspiration, touching many lives and will be truly missed.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 14, at the Grace Presbyterian Church,
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at
Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. 6
