Lyle Morgan, age 89, left this earthly life on Tues., Oct. 24, 2017 at Mt. Joseph Senior Community, Concordia, KS.  He was born on Sept. 18, 1928 in rural Hollis, KS to Clarence R. "Poke" & Bessie F. (Pearce) Morgan.

Lyle attended Hollis & Jackson grade schools.  He served in the US Army and was stationed at Heilbronn Germany from Dec. of 1951 to March of 1953.  He was a lifelong farmer in the Hollis area.  He married Joan Spear on June 9, 1951 at Camp Attebury, Indiana.  Lyle & Joan were active in the HDU, 4-H, School & Conservation Board, Trinity UMC, Cloud County Historical Society and Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Morgan, Concordia; daughters, Barbara Shunn (Marvin), Concordia & Cathy Spangler (Calvin), Abilene; brother, Mark Morgan (Dorothy), Concordia; 2 grandsons, Lee Dunlap (Erika), Wamego, KS.; Duncan Spangler, Abilene, KS.;  2 great-grandsons, Sabre Dunlap, Deshler, NE.; Brandon Dunlap, Hickman, NE., & several nieces & nephews & a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Irene VanLaningham & W. Pauline Slusser & brothers, Glen Morgan & Marion Cochran.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.  Burial will follow at Hollis Cemetery, Hollis.  Military Honors will be conducted by the local VFW #588 and American Legion #76 of Concordia.  Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 from 9 am to 9 pm with family greeting friends from 5 pm to 8 pm all at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cloud County Historical Society in care of the funeral home.  "Casual dress, denim welcomed" For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
