Marcella (Bouley) Valek, age 77, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Republic County Long Term Care Center, Belleville, KS. She was born August 19, 1930 in Aurora, Kansas to Levi and Marie Breault Bouley. She attended school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School, Concordia, KS. She married Eddie E. Valek on January 20, 1951 in Concordia, KS. To this union seven children were born: Janis, Mick, Jerry, Nancy, Randy, Bill, and Marti. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2003. She was a lifetime homemaker, loving mother, and devoted wife who worked tirelessly alongside her husband and children on the family farm. She was always available to listen, nurture, love, encourage or console. Family and close friends could find her working in her rose garden, vegetable garden, or feeding and watering the birds that came to her many feeders. Watching the birds gave her special enjoyment as her health failed. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and attended mass faithfully every Sunday until it became impossible for her to do so. She was an avid supporter of many school or community activities involving her children or grandchildren, even if that meant just being able to listen for their names on the radio. She will be forever remembered, missed and loved by her children, grandchildren, sisters, and many relatives and friends. Survivors include two sons: Mick Valek & wife Donna, of Agenda, KS; Bill Valek & wife Resi, of Agenda, KS; three daughters: Janis Krob & husband John, of Cuba, KS; Nancy Erickson & husband Glenn, of Maysville, MO; Marti Wilber and husband Dan, of Belleville, KS; three sisters: Gloria Clintsman & husband LaVerne, of Concordia, KS Freda Jackson & husband Keith, of Concordia, KS; and Teresa Wisbey & husband Gary, Salina, KS; 14 Grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons: Jerry and Randy Valek, and a grandson Jake Valek. Memorials may be made to Long Term Care at Republic County Hospital.
