Marcelline "Marcie" Gillen, age 84, died July 26, 2015 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 12, 1930 in St. Joe, KS to Albert L. & Catherine G. (LaBarge) Paquette.
She graduated from Notre Dame High School. She married Dewane J. Comeau, he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1957. She later married Edwin J. Gillen. She was a homemaker and worked at the Ben Franklin Store, Hobby Shop, and Boogaarts as a baker. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Altar Society & the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin "Ed" Gillen, Concordia; son, Douglas Comeau (Karen), Boerne, TX; daughters, Deanna Reed, Emporia, Debbie Istas (Rex), Killeen, TX & Denise Barney (Gene), Tampa; brothers, Richard Paquette (Judy), Beloit and Alvin Paquette (Diane), Concordia; sisters, Pauline Benefiel (Melvin), Ft. Collins, CO, Julie McGinnis (Garry), Concordia & Linda Bailey, Deltona, FL; 14 grandchildren; Mark, Laura, Lee, Dewane, Alan, Andrea, Janel, Stephen, Aaron, Alisha, Nathan, Jared, Zach & Cailey; 10 great grandchildren: Ashley, Brett, Gracie, Bryson, Landon, Athena, Orion, Luke, Alice, and Brennon; & 1 great great granddaughter, Vivienne.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewane; daughter, Donna Sue Comeau; her parents; brothers, Isadore, Ernie & Lee Paquette & sister, Alberta Heater.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. James Hoover and Rev. Jose Kumblumkal officiating. Cremation will follow the services per her wishes and private family burial will be at a later date in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 9:00am to 9:00 pm with an Altar Society Rosary at 5:00 pm and Vigil Services at 6:00 pm followed by a family led Rosary, all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or the Rebecca A. Morrison House of Salina in care of the funeral home.
