Margaret "Peg" Sulanka, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. She was born on December 28, 1949 in Concordia, KS to Edward "Eddie" H. and Marie F. (Letourneau) Blackwell.
Peg attended Aurora High School until it closed and was a 1968 graduate of Notre Dame High School, Concordia. She married Richard L. Sulanka on September 26, 1969 in Aurora, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2016.
Peg was a mother, homemaker and helped out with many of the farming duties. Peg also cleaned and worked outside the home for the Aurora Café, Brown Grand Theatre, and Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
Memberships include the St. Peter's Catholic Church, C.D.A., St. Ann's Altar Society all of Aurora.
She enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Peg is survived by her, 6 sons; Larry, Glenn (Jill), Randy (Amy), of Aurora; Jerry (Tammi), Oak Hill, KS.; Robert & James also of Aurora; 3 sisters, Gladys Chaput, Salina; Mildred Solbach, Wallawalla, WA.; Mary Kenworthy, Aurora; Brother, Richard Blackwell, Concordia; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brother, Carroll Blackwell, a niece, Stephanie Sulanka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 14, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Aurora with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Peter's Cemetery, Aurora. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 with a Vigil followed by a Rosary service at 6:00 pm, Thursday all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Family will receive friends after the Vigil / Rosary service.
