Obituary
Marguerite (Bramwell) Erickson, 96 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born on the family farm 3 ½ miles east of Concordia on March 27, 1918 to Charles and Pearl (Weckwerth) Bramwell. Marguerite attended the District #8 School and graduated from the Concordia High School in 1935. She married D. Arvidale Erickson on September 14, 1938 at the First Presbyterian Church in Concordia. Marguerite left Concordia with her husband in 1941, living in Cushing, Oklahoma, Kansas City, Missouri, and Topeka, Kansas before returning to Concordia in December of 1961 to make their home. Marguerite worked as a secretary for a number of years with the U.S. Government, different insurance companies, and the state of Kansas before retiring in 1983 as secretary for the Cloud County Conservation District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, 50 year member of both the Chapter EV of P.E.O. and the Leah Chapter of O.E.S., the Nathan Edson Chapter D.A.R., and a lifetime member of the Cloud County Historical Society.
Marguerite is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 70 years, D. Arvidale on April 5, 2008; and a sister, Doris Chatten.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 23, 2014 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Joe Detrixhe officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 1 – 6 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014 with family greeting friends from 4 – 5 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
