Obituary

Marguerite J. Scott was born on January 29, 1929 in Matherville, Illinois. She passed from this life on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS at the age of 82. Born at her maternal grandparents home in Matherville, IL; one of 6 children, her parents were farmers in Mercer County, IL. She attended Seventh Day Adventist Boarding Academy in Broadview, IL. Marguerite graduated from high school in 1947. She attended Union College in Lincoln, NE. She married Edwin "Pat" Scott on April 9, 1950 in Matherville, IL. They lived many years in the Denver, CO area and two children were born to this union, Margo Joyce in 1952 and Monte J. in 1960. Pat was a truck driver and they traveled across America many times. They returned to Garland, NE until Edwin preceded her in death in 1992. She then moved to the Senior Living Apt. in Seward, NE for 11 years until moving to Sargent, NE and residing with her son, Monte and his wife for 5 years. Marguerite moved to Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, KS to be near her beloved grandson, Jonathan Scott and Nate Bargen, who took care of her for nearly 1 ½ years. Jonathan loved and specially cared for her and she had a very special relationship with him. He was a nurse for her at Park Villa until she later moved to Belleville Healthcare Center, where Jonathan and Nate continued to be with her as much as possible. They continued to do things for her, such as taking her out to eat, shopping and to her granddaughter Lori's wedding. Marguerite was a homemaker and antique dealer. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter: Margo Fuller & husband Harry, Garland, NE; son: Monte Scott & wife Patricia, Sargent, NE; sisters: Carol Kurtz, Mesa, AZ, Iris Jean Kruger & husband Dick, Willowdale, Ontario, Canada & Jennifer Doake & husband Richard, Round Lake, IL; brother: Tom Bridger & wife Eileen, Hoffman Heights Estates, IL; 8 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Pat" Scott; parents & sister, Nellie Rose Greer. The family chose cremation and Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM, Wed, July 13, 2011 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the funeral home. Family burial will be at a later date at Germantown Cemetery, Garland, NE. The family suggests memorials to the Seventh Day Adventist Conference, Lincoln, NE Campus in care of the funeral home.
