Marie Cote was born on April 10, 1909 in New York, New York and was adopted by the Joseph & Philomene (Caillouete) Francoeur family from the Catholic orphanage in New York. She passed from this life on Wed., June 3, 2009 in Abilene, KS at the age of 100. Marie rode the Orphan Train at the age of 18 months to her home in Concordia, KS. She spent most of her life in the Concordia community. Marie married Ronald Cote on July 23, 1935 in Concordia, KS at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Ronald preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1972. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the church, belonging to St. Ann's and the Altar Society. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Davidson & husband Aaron, Concordia, KS & Ronalda Copple & husband Marvin, Concordia, KS; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren & several nieces, nephews & spouses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; parents & 16 brothers & sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM and vigil services at 6:30 PM, all Thurs., June 4, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
