Marie B. Dorman was born on Feb. 18, 1926 in Clara, KS to Ben & Loretta (Straub) Wurtz. She passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 31, 2008 at her home in Concordia, KS at the age of 82. Marie attended grade schools at Strawberry & Clara, KS. She graduated from Agenda High School. Marie worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, KS and later farmed in the Concordia, KS area until she retired. She married Jimmie E. Dorman on Feb. 17, 1947. Marie enjoyed doing needle work & making quilts for the grandchildren & great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking & dancing. Marie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Thoman & husband Greg, Jamestown, KS, Rita Marken & husband Craig, DeMotte, IN, Loretta Meats & husband Carl, Concordia, KS & Connie Hawkinson & husband Earl, Wichita, KS; sons, Gary Dorman & friend Karen, Canadian, TX, Mike Dorman & wife Bari, Burlington, CO, Tim Dorman & wife Susan, Burlington, CO & Jamie Dorman, Burlington, CO; a sister, Vera Girard, Concordia, KS; brothers, Robert Wurtz, Topeka, KS, Bernard Wurtz, Wichita, KS & Wilfred Wurtz, Fairfield Bay, AR; 16 grandchildren; 2 step grandsons & 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Dorman, her parents; 4 brothers, Marvin, Clarence, Lawrence & Andy Wurtz & 2 sisters, Theresa Hoover & Veronica Watkins. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Jan. 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM and Vigil services at 6:30 PM, all Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Organ Fund.
