Barbretta Marie Hutchinson was born April 3, 1922 to Tom and Louise (Kottal) Hoofer. She died on December 28, 2010 at Cloud County Health Center at the age of 88. Marie graduated from Stockton High School in 1940 and graduated from the St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing on June 3, 1943. She married Kenneth Hutchinson on March 3, 1944 and made Concordia, Kansas her home. She was a registered nurse at St Joseph Hospital until 1975. After she retired from nursing, she was an Avon Representative for many years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, TOPS and AARP. She will be truly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth and son, Tom. She is survived by her brother, Wilford Hoofer and wife Sally, Halstead, Kansas, her daughter-in-law, Joyce of Salina, Kansas, grandson Shawn Hutchinson, his wife, Jamie and two children, Blayne and Elle of Great Bend, Kansas and grandson Jason Hutchinson of Salina, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Thurs., Dec. 30, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Visitation will be from 1-9 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM Wed., at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Assoc. in care of the funeral home.
