Marie Ann Winter was born on September 4, 1935 in Linn, KS to Albert & Bessie (Long) Oehmke. She passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 31, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia at the age of 73. Marie graduated from Linn High School. She married Dean W. Winter on May 22, 1955 in Palmer, KS. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995. Marie was a bookkeeper for Fidelity State Bank until her retirement. Marie was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 Ladies Auxiliaries, all of Concordia. Marie is survived by her sons, Jim Winter & wife Kathie, Concordia, KS & Mark Winter & wife Arbie, Ottawa, KS; her daughters, Kris Nelson & husband J.B., Glasco, KS & Lisa Fleming & husband Dennis, Concordia, KS; a brother, Harold Oehmke & wife Donnette, Linn, KS; a sister, Betty Jean Adams, Blue Rapids, KS; a sister in law, Madelyn Oehmke, Palmer, KS; her grandchildren, Krystal Dillon & husband Shawn, Brandi Schrandt, Jamie Winter, Daniel Schrandt, Weston Fleming, Greg Winter & Izaak Winter; great grandchildren, Chloe, Laynee & Allie Dillon. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean; parents; granddaughter, Kelsey Lane Fleming; brother, Lawrence Oehmke & son in law, Steve Schrandt. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Concordia with Rev. David Strommen officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 9 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, January 5, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
