Obituary

Marston Lee Lagasse peacefully passed away on April 26, 2007 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74.  Marston was born in Rice, Kansas on November 4, 1932 to Harold and Jeanette (Carlson) Lagasse.  As a young man Marston became very active in 4-H, showing champion cattle.  He later judged livestock shows.   Marston was a successful livestock buyer for many years of his life, traveling all over the state of Kansas.  Marston looked forward to Football Season and Coach Barta's Smith Center High School Team.  He would brag on Barta and his boys to anyone that would listen.  He made daily visits to Paul's Cafe for coffee and an afternoon game of cards at Pooche's.  One of the highlights of Marston's life for the past 25 years was when the "North Carolina boys" came hunting in November, he spent each day at the hunting lodge and considered them family.  Marston is survived by his children: Sharon Anglemyer, of Great Bend, Kansas; Nancy Foos, of Wichita, Kansas; Todd Lagasse of Moundridge, Kansas; and Kyle Lagasse of Ruidoso, New Mexico; brother Larry Lagasse and wife Lana of Concordia, KS; sister in law Karen Lagasse Knoche of Osawatomie, KS; 4 grandchildren: Heath Balderston and wife Jamie of Wichita, Kansas; Mallory and Angie Foos of Wichita, Kansas; Bryce Lagasse of Moundridge, Kansas; 3 Great Grandchildren: Dayton and Avery Balderston of Wichita, Kansas; and Syrus Pless of Wichita, Kansas.  Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 30, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Gannon officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 PM to 9 PM Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 4 PM to 6PM.  Burial will be in the Rice Cemetery, Rice, Kansas.  Memorials may be made to Smith Center High School Football Assoc. or Chapel Hill Fellowship Church, Wichita, Kansas in care of the Funeral Home.
