Marvene G. Oliver was born on Oct. 21, 1950 in Belleville, KS to Marvin & Jean (Witt) Cherney. She passed from this life on Mon, Aug. 31, 2009 at her sister's home in Concordia, KS at the age of 58. Marvene attended Agenda High School. She worked in construction as a welder until becoming disabled. She is survived her son: Johnnie Oliver & wife Mellisa, Superior, NE; daughter: Sandy Sterling & husband Bob, Concordia, KS; father: Marvin Cherney, Belleville, KS; sister: Judy Brunkow & husband Delbert, Concordia, KS; brothers: Paul Cherney, Concordia, KS Gary Cherney & wife Lisa, Princeton, KS & grandchildren: Deaman & Autumn Oliver, Superior, NE. She was preceded in death by her mother, sister, Karen Myers & grandson, Marshall Oliver. The family chose cremation and Memorial Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thurs., Sept. 3, 2009 at the Union Cemetery, Wayne, KS with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 10 AM to 5 PM, Wed., Sept. 2, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Republic Co. Hospital or Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
