Obituary

Marvin D. Copple, age 87, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Friday April 5, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.    Marvin was born January 22, 1937, in Bennington, KS to the late Allen and Clema (Alderson) Copple.  He was the oldest of five children, one preceded him in death, Patsy Brown Zimmerman Appleby.

Marvin was raised and attended School in Delphos, KS.  Marvin worked for his Uncle Art Copple in construction and plumbing, later worked for McDonald, Clark and Brown Plumbing before opening his own business, Copple Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 2009.

Marvin married Ronalda Cote on October 19, 1958, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, KS and five children were born from this union: Ronald, Mike, Mark, Cheryl and Darryl Dean.

Marvin enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, wood working, making bird houses and toy guns, but most of all loved being with friends, family especially spending time with the grandkids, laughing and fishing.  He was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, and friend.

Marvin leaves his devoted wife of 65 years, Ronalda, Concordia, KS,  children; Ronald Copple (Stacey), Concordia, KS Michael Copple (Dianne), Wichita, KS, Mark Copple (Virginia), Cheryl Lanoue (Donald) and Darryl Dean Copple (ReJeanna) all of Concordia, KS, grandchildren; Angela Collins (Ron), Wamego, KS, Travis Chartier (Shaela), Concordia, KS Anna Moore (Curtis) Clyde KS, Jesse Copple, Abilene, KS,  Robyn Brooks, Bobbie VandenBroeder, Concordia, KS, Miranda Housh (Alan), Glen Elder, KS, Micheala, Kaleb, Kole and Gage Copple, Wichita, KS, Breann Bruce (Perry), Owasso, OK, Chanse Copple, Concordia, KS, Nikki Rethman (Ethan), Seneca, KS Courtney Zimmer (Shane), Olathe, KS, Nicole Knox (Matt), Guam, Logan Copple (Cesilee), Belleville, KS, Jeffrey Peeler (Caitlin), Josh Peeler (Jenny), Atwood, IL and James Peeler (Kandice), Carro Gordo, IL, Jeannie Copple, Abilene, KS, 35 great-grandchildren; sisters; Beverly Thoman and Joan Olson (Doug), Concordia, KS; sister-in-law; Carolyn Davidson, Concordia, KS and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 at 10:00 am, at  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating.  Burial will follow in St Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS.  Visitation will be April 9th from 1-7 pm with the family greeting friends from 6-7 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Concordia Cemetery Fund or Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.  Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W 6th St., PO Box 606, Concordia, KS 66901 oversees the arrangements.
