Melvin "Pret" Jensen was born on Dec. 12, 1930 in Norway, KS to Hans and Minda (Olsen) Jensen. He passed from this life on Tues., Oct. 28, 2008 at Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown, KS at the age of 77. He married Donna L. Rank on June 21, 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a lifetime area farmer and resident of Jamestown, KS. He is survived by his wife: Donna Jensen, Jamestown, KS; his sons: Jerry Jensen & wife Marcia, Jamestown, KS & Jim Jensen & wife Diane, Wichita, KS; his daughters: Janet DeVore & hus Eddie, Beloit, KS, Judy Baugh & hus Greg, Salina, KS & Jolene Hughes & hus Bill, Geneseo, IL; his brother: Charles "Bud" Jensen & wife Pat, Norway, KS; his sisters: Helen Larkins, Western, NE & Ruth Chilcott, Kelso, WA; 13 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Julius "Fat" Jensen, Lawrence Jensen; sisters: Mary Green & Rosie Sweat. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Sat, Nov. 1, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Rev. Debbie Smith officiating. Burial will follow the services at Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cloud County or Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown.
