Morris E. Nelson, 90 years of age, of Rural Clyde, passed away at his residence Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was born on the family farm south of Calderhead , Kansas on August 30, 1920 to George & Judith (Smith) Nelson. Morris graduated in 1938 from Clyde High School as president of his class. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman. Morris was an NC+ dealer for 45 years. He married Pauline Andrewson on December 6, 1941 in Pauline's parents' house, called the Hammer Place in rural Brantford . He was a member of the Brantford Evangelical Covenant Church .

Morris is survived by 3 sons, Vaughn Nelson & wife Nancy of Hays, Galen Nelson & wife Karen of Wichita, Terry Nelson & wife Pam of Clifton; a daughter, Karen Swanson & husband Roland of Tecumseh, KS; 13 Grandchildren; and 25 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Pauline on April 14, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the Brantford Evangelical Covenant Church of Rural Clyde with Rev. Russell Sizemore officiating. Interment will be in the Brantford Covenant Cemtery, Rural Clyde. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 PM Monday, April 25, 2011 with family greeting friends from 2 – 4 PM in the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde . Memorials may be left to the church, the Clyde Ambulance Fund, or the Clyde Historical Society with the funeral home in charge.
