Olin E. Stortz, age 80, died Sun., July 6, 2014 at Marquis Place, Concordia. He was born east of Glasco, KS on May 12, 1934 to Ernest L. & Lelia (Brooks) Stortz.

Olin served in the US Navy from 1952-1955 during the Korean War. He married Maryjo A. Pritchett on Dec. 20, 1954 in Glasco, KS. Olin was a heavy equipment operator for the KDOT for 5 years then the City of Concordia from 1960-1974 and then KDOT until his retirement on July 15, 1995. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 since 1976.

Olin is survived by his wife Maryjo, Concordia; son Darrell Stortz & wife Susie, Emporia; daughter, Virginia Jo Koster & hus. Bill, Miltonvale; 5 grandchildren & several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Harold & Robert Stortz & sisters, Shirley Ewing, Retha Neff & Louise Rugg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Fri., July 11, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 will be at the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco. Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm Thurs., July 10, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society or American Legion Post #76 in care of the funeral home.
