Omer M. Sager was born on Sept. 3, 1942 in Vining, KS to Lloyd & Cordelia (Bouley) Sager. He passed from this life on Mon., Aug. 17, 2009 at his home in Concordia, KS at the age of 66. Omer graduated from Concordia High School. He married Cheryl Hanson on April 28, 1962 in Salina, KS. Omer worked in an ink manufacturing factory as a chemist/color master for 17 years. Then he & Cheryl worked together for the next 20 years in sales for church directories, banks & credit unions. Omer attended the Catholic Church. He also loved animals & pets. He is survived by his wife: Cheryl Sager, Concordia, KS; daughter: Shene Klinger & husband C.J., Ft. Smith, AR; sister: Rachel Douglas & husband Bob, Clyde, KS; grandchildren: Dustin Smith & wife Cherylee, Ft. Smith, AR, Damon Smith & wife Erin, Ft. Smith, AR, Degan Smith, Ft. Smith, AR & Darrah Smith & James Okoniewski, Ft. Smith, AR; great grandchildren: Sophia, Caiden & Madison Smith, Ft. Smith, AR & several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Loch Sager; father, Lloyd, mother, Cordelia Sager Forgue; grandson, Zan Gorton & sister, Arlene Diane Sager. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Jack Schlaf officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with a Vigil service at 6:30 PM, Thurs., Aug. 20, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services and a private family burial will be held a later date at the Vining Cemetery, Vining, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Concordia Animal Shelter or Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
