Obituary

Ona Mae Fessenden, 96 years of age, of Clyde, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013. She was born on June 20, 1917 in Aurora to Edward and Lena (Longton) Quenelle. Ona Mae graduated from Aurora High School and went on to graduate from Beauty School in Topeka in 1938. She ran a beauty shop in Clyde until semi-retiring to her home salon until the mid 90's. Ona Mae married Eugene Letourneau on September 3, 1935 and they later divorced on April 4, 1938. She married Glen Hanson on December 13, 1941 until his passing on November 13, 1970. She married Melvin Czapanskiy on June 19, 1972. He preceded her on November 19, 1994. She married Virgil Fessenden on February 2, 2002. She enjoyed family, friends, bingo, fishing, and traveling. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Ona Mae is survived by her husband, Virgil; step children from Melvin Czapanskiy, Dale Chambers (Ellie) of Gordonsville, Virginia, Ann Carr (Shirley Ohta) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Edie Bocksnick (Doug Morrison) of Wamego, Bill Czapanskiy (Deb) of Clyde; step children from Virgil Fessenden, Dennis Fessenden (Loraine) of Washington State, Wade Fessenden (Lorie) of Rupert Idaho, Diane Wodshow (Lonnie), Gary Fessenden (Donna), both of Paul, Idaho; grandchildren, Debbie Istas (Bill), Robert Letourneau (Corina), Louisa Dowling (Jaime Jimenez) Linda Letourneau; 12 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Glen Hanson, Melvin Czapanskiy; son, Kenneth Letourneau; and grandson, William Letourneau.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2013 in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Clyde. Visitation will be held from 1 – 8 PM Thursday with a rosary at 7 PM in the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde. Memorials are suggested to Mount Calvary Cemetery in care of the mortuary. Chaput Mortuary in Clyde is in charge of arrangements.
