Orville L. Yoder was born on Dec. 7, 1923 in Concordia, KS to Jess & Lucille (Eustice) Yoder.  He passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, KS at the age of 85. O rville was born, raised & spent all his life in the Concordia, KS area. He married Marjorie L. Roberts on Aug. 21, 1952 in Concordia, KS. She preceded him in death on July 16, 1982. Orville served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1428, American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. He worked in the kitchen for the St. Joseph Hospital for 43 years until his retirement.  He is survived by his brother, Howard Yoder, Port Hueneme, CA; nephew, Paul D. Bowman, Topeka, KS & cousin, Larry Perry, Concordia, KS.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents & a sister, Arlene Bowman.  Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Thurs., March 12, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS with Rev. John States officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588.  Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 5 PM Wed, March 11, 2009 & 9-10:30 AM Thurs., March 12, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Orville Yoder Memorial Fund.
