Obituary

In loving memory of Patricia A. Butler who passed peacefully on Dec. 7, 2020. Please join us for a graveside service honoring Patricia's life on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Glasco, Kansas.

Patricia was born on July 18, 1939, in Concordia to John J. and Neomi (Foster) Butler. She grew up in Glasco on a farm and graduated from Glasco High School in 1957. She moved to Salina to attend Brown Mackie School of Business and later studied at Kansas State University. She was hired by the Veterinary Department at KSU and resided in Manhattan until moving to Topeka. She worked for the Kansas Department of Education, retiring in 2004. Patricia also worked for JCPenney where she made lasting friendships and earned her retired associate discount, allowing her to spoil her great nieces and nephews.

After retiring, she "hit the road." Some of her favorite trips were to Ireland, England, and Scotland, and she enjoyed residence in Helen, Georgia for a period. Later, she traveled by bus which included "Mystery Trips," and she never missed an opportunity to take tours to Kansas City for a theatre performance, concert, or to cheer on the Chiefs and Royals.

Patricia was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Salina.

She is survived by her brothers, John (Pat), Perry, KS, and Charles (Colene), Fayetteville, AR. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, David Butler (Heidi), Star, ID; Stephanie Nielsen, CA, Jason Butler, Perry, KS, Nikki Foley (Jeff) North Oaks, MN, and Danelle Perry (Daniel), Manhattan, KS; and 5 great nephews and 3 great nieces.

The family selected cremation and postponed the service due to the pandemic. The family chose Nov. 5 to bring Patricia to her final resting place, in recognition of her mother's birthday. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Glasco, and a luncheon following at the St. Mary's Parish Hall at 301 E. 1 st Street in Glasco. The Parish Hall will also be open at 8:30 a.m. for travelers to use its amenities.

Memorial may be made to the Midland Care ( www.midlandcareconnection.org ) or Salina Senior Center, Piece Makers Sewing Group ( www.saline.org/Departments/Senior-Services ), and an online guestbook is available at www.chaputbuoy.com .
