Pauline M. Nelson was born on May 28, 1919 in Brantford, KS to Hans & Julia (Matson) Andrewson. She passed from this life on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at her residence in Rural Clyde, KS at the age of 91. Pauline grew up and lived in the Brantford area all her life and was the last surviving of 8 children. She married Morris Nelson on Dec. 6, 1941 at her parent's house, called the Hammer House in rural Brantford. She was a member of the Brantford Evangelical Covenant Church where she was actively involved with the Covenant Women, taught Sunday School for 19 years and sang in the church choir. Pauline was also a member of the E.H.U. and a former 4-H Leader. She is survived by her husband: Morris Nelson, Clyde, KS; sons: Vaughn Nelson & wife Nancy, Hays, KS, Galen Nelson & wife Karen, Wichita, KS & Terry Nelson & wife Pam, Clifton, KS; daughter: Karen Swanson & husband Roland, Tecumseh, KS; 13 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters & 4 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Mon., April 18, 2011 at the Brantford Evangelical Covenant Church, Rural Clyde, KS with Rev. Russell Sizemore officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM with the family greeting friends from 2-4 PM, Sun, April 17, 2011 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Burial will follow the services at the Brantford Covenant Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Brantford Evangelical Covenant Church, Brantford Community Center or the Clyde Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
