Pauline A. Vaughan was born on August 22, 1904 to P.D. and Libby Letourneau. She passed from this life on August 14, 2007 in Knowlton, Quebec, Canada at the age of 102, just 8 days prior to celebrating her 103rd birthday. Pauline graduated from Concordia High School, and attended Fort Hays State College for two years. After teaching two years in a rural school, Pauline moved from Aurora to Concordia in 1924. S he married W. Kirby Vaughan on May 6, 1930 in Concordia, Kansas. Pauline then began a career in sales with Ingersoll Jewelry, The Bon Marche, and a thirty year service with Montgomery Wards, retiring in 1969. Pauline was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, she also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She is survived by her son, Kaye Vaughan and wife Lucile; grandchildren, Myrle Thompson and Jake Vaughan and wife Andree; great grandchildren, Kim, Kelsey, Amy, Olivia, Tyson and Ben. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby, her parents, a brother, Raymond Letourneau and sisters, Lorette Kiene and Hus. Tom and Lorene Kendall and Hus. Jack. The body was cremated and memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, KS with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Following the services, burial of the cremains will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 9 PM on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 6:30 to 8 PM. An Altar Society Rosary will be held at 5 PM Monday, September 24, 2007 at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
