Pearlene J. (Moore) Showalter, 77 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia. She was born in Bazine, Kansas on February 22, 1936 to Herbert and Molly (Rein) Moore. Pearlene attended Bazine High School. She married and later divorced David Showalter. Pearlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Pearlene is survived by her daughter, Tanya Mossburgh and husband Steve of Concordia; brother, Sherry Moore and wife Karen of Bazine; 2 grandchildren, Cheriee Mossburgh of Concordia, Luke Mossburgh of Aurora, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; sister, Marvalee Stanberry; and former husband David.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia with Rev. Tessa Zehring officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 5 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Christ Pilot Me Hill in Bazine in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
