Peggy Jean
Loveland
August 5, 1938 – December 5, 2015
Peggy Jean Loveland, 77, a longtime Concordia resident, entered into rest on December 5, 2015 at the Salina Regional Health Center. She was born August 5, 1938 in Miltonvale, Kansas to Harvey Lee and Kate Ellen (Ennis) Loveland.
She was a 1956 graduate of Miltonvale High School. Peggy received her Associate's degree from Miltonvale Wesleyan College in 1958, and then completed her Bachelor's degree in Education from Kansas State University in 1966. Peggy began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse, then taught in Miltonvale, but spent most of her 42-year career in the Concordia Schools.
Peggy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years; a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Chapter Alpha Sigma; P.E.O. Chapter AO, Concordia; and Big Brothers and Sisters where she served as a Big Sister. She also served on the Frank Carlson Library Board of Trustees.
She was a loving and devoted sister and aunt. It has been said that she made the best homemade bulgur wheat bread in the state of Kansas.
She is survived by her brother Max Loveland and wife Janiece of Garland, Tx.; eight nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, G. Charles Loveland.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tessa Zehring officiating.
Internment will follow in the Miltonvale City Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter Alpha Sigma, or P.E.O. Chapter AO, c/o Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
