Peggy Powell, age 70, died Sun., Aug. 26 at Republic Co. Hospital , Belleville . She was born on Aug. 20, 1942 in Concordia , KS to Thomas & Della Mae (Greer) Barleen. Peg attended Republic Co. country & then Concordia schools. She married William "Bill" Powell on June 5, 1960 at Concordia Lutheran Church , Concordia. Peg worked for the Cloud County Clerk's office for over 30 years. Peg thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and their times together. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church . She is survived by her husband, Bill, Concordia; son, Brad Powell (Janet), Midlothian, VA; daughter, Anita Strommen (David), Concordia; grandchildren; Shane Powell (fiancé Stephanie Manzelli), Boston, MA, Collin Powell (Ashley), Moseley, VA, Kelsey Powell, Richmond, VA & William, Ben & Emily Strommen, Concordia; great grandchildren, Haden & Zoe, Moseley, VA; sisters, Carol Lingo, Ames, Martha Eakins, Concordia & Meredith Bechard (Dale), Abilene & brothers, Owen Barleen (Debi), Concordia & Loyal Barleen (friend Becky), Agenda. She was preceded in death by her parents & 4 brothers in law. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Wed., Aug. 29 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. David Strommen officiating. Burial will follow the services at Saron Lutheran Cemetery , Concordia. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm, Tues. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church .
