Phyllis Ann McDaniel, 82 years of age, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born on October 20, 1930 in Herndon to John and Anna (Versch) Wolkensdorfer. She graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, Nebraska. Phyllis married Charles L. "Chuck" McDaniel on February 25, 1951 in Oakley. She enjoyed reading, walking, music boxes, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia and Altar Society.

Phyllis is survived by 5 daughters, Dara Linton and husband Richard of Osborne, Lori Hess and husband Mike of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Erin Oertel and husband Steve of Goddard, Kelli Spear and husband Mark, Jona McDaniel and Kathy Tatum, both of Concordia; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck on January 13, 2012; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013 in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Interment will be in the St. Concordia Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 9 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013 with an altar society rosary at 5 PM and a vigil service at 7 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
