Phyllis Anne Richard was born on June 3, 1945 in Concordia, KS to Eldon & Doris (West) Sherbondy. She passed from this life on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at her home in Cape Coral, FL after a dignified battle with cancer. Phyllis graduated from Miltonvale High School, Miltonvale, KS in 1962. Phyllis graduated from Prairie State College, Chicago Heights, IL in 1979 as a Registered Nurse, & later from University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL in 1991 with her B.S. in Nursing. Phyllis worked in the nursing field for more then 30 years, serving at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center, Chicago and 4 years at Lee Memorial Health System Health Park until she retired in 2008. She married James P. Richard on Jan. 26,1963 in Miltonvale, KS and they enjoyed 47 wonderful years together. She is survived by her husband, James Richard, Cape Coral, FL; sons; Keith, Jefferson City, MO, James & wife Amber & Timothy, both of Cape Coral, FL; daughters; Kimberly Lopez and husband Federico, Andrea Vehe and husband Lee, both of Channahon, IL, Kristin Cook & husband Raymond, Jr., St. John, IN, Natalie Wright and husband Dale, South Elgin, IL & Valarie Barich & husband, David, Frankfort, IL; mother, Doris Petrick, Cape Coral, FL; sisters; Shirley McGrath & husband Laurence, Chicago Heights, IL & Debra Rodriguez & husband Raymond of Cape Coral, FL; 26 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many loving nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Sherbondy; step father, John Petrick & brothers, Curtis & Terry Sherbondy. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thurs., Feb. 18, 2010 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Bokeelia, FL. Burial will be at 10 AM, Sat, June 18, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Meredith Twp, Concordia, KS with Rev. Joseph Kieffer officiating.
