Rae Jean Joyner, age 67, went to be with the Lord on Tues., July 12, 2016 surrounded by her family at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. She was born in Lucas, Kansas on March 5, 1949 to Ray E. & Naomi (Peterson) Tatum.

Rae Jean grew up and attended schools in Concordia. She married Ronnie Joyner on Feb. 1, 1975 at Salina, KS. She was a lifelong Concordia area resident. Rae Jean operated her own daycare for over 35 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Weight Watchers of Concordia and a former member of Women of the Moose Lodge #1428.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie, Concordia; sons, Ed Mildfedlt (Karen), Springfield, MO; James Joyner, Sr. (Angie), Concordia & Jeremy Mildfeldt, Humboldt; daughter, Rebecca Key (Wayne), Concordia; sisters, LaDonna Delashmit (Willie), Belgrade, Missouri; Rose Baird, Salina & Tressie Robbins (Chuck); brothers, Paul Tatum (Paula); David "Bo" Tatum (Martha) & Marty Tatum, all of Concordia; 9 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents & grandsons, Edward L. Mildfeldt, Eric Scott Mildfeldt & Dalton Jo Joyner.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Fri., July 15, 2016 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Dyke officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm Thurs., July 14, 2016 with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Faith Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
