Obituary

Randy Clinton Carlgren, 58 years of age, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on April 28, 1955 in Kansas City , Missouri to C. Clinton and Wanda L. (Bruens) Carlgren. Randy was a graduate of Grand Island High School in Grand Island , Nebraska . He lived in Colorado Springs , Colorado all of his adult life. When Randy was in junior high, the family moved often due to his father's work for the government allowing him to attend several different schools around the country. The family lived in Wichita , Knob Noster, Missouri , Rapid City , South Dakota , Great Falls , Montana , Mercer Island , Washington , and Grand Island , Nebraska . While living in Grand Island , Randy accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. After this, he became an avid Bible student. Soon after, Randy moved to Colorado Springs , Colorado and ran a furniture moving business. During the last three years of his life, Randy became interested in Andrew and Jan Wommack's Charis Bible College . When Randy became very ill, his friend Renate came back into his life to care for him. She had been a big part of his life for many, many years.

Randy is survived by his mother, Wanda Fredrickson and husband George of Concordia; sister, Brita Smith and husband Tom of Petaluma, California; brother, Greg A. Carlgren and wife Maggie of Concordia; two nieces, Amy Buric and husband Robert, Suzanne Carlgren; two nephews, Tom W. Smith and wife Jessica, Casey C. Carlgren; great niece, Ava Buric; great nephew, Tommy Buric; step sister, Debra Pishney and husband Roger; 2 step brothers, Steve Fredrickson and wife Linda, Ric Fredrickson and wife Lynette; aunts and uncles, Phyllis Fredrickson Carlgren, Gene and Donald Allen, Richard and Margaret Ivey; cousins, Charla Parnell and husband Bill, Fred Carlgren, Jerri Carlgren; and longtime friend, Renate Jenz of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, C. Clinton Carlgren in 1971.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2013 in The Baptist Church in Concordia with Rev. David Fabarez officiating. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place but a register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM Friday, June 7, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
