Obituary

Ray E. Tatum was born April 19, 1922 in Barnard, Kansas to Thomas Edmond and Tressie Loomis Tatum.  He passed away from this life on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas at the age of 85.   H e married Naomi Peterson on 8-11-1946 at Lincoln, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2006. They were married for almost 60 years. He worked maintenance for Roberts Dairy/ Fairmont until he retired in 1983. He served in the US Air Force and Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #76, and Faith Baptist Church of Concordia, KS. He is survived by daughters: LaDonna Delashmit and husband Willie, Belgrade, Missouri; Rose Baird, Salina, Kansas; Rae Jean Joyner and husband Ron; Tressie Robbins and husband Chuck; Sons: Paul Tatum and wife Paula; David "Bo" Tatum and wife Martha; and Marty Tatum, all of Concordia, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Sister: Mildred Bausch, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.  Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with  Dr. Rex Fuller officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Friday, March 21, 2008 with family receiving friends from 7 PM to 8:30 PM.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas with Military Graveside Honors by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588.  The family suggests memorials to the Faith Baptist Church.
