Raymond L. Odette was born on July 25, 1923 in Washington County, Kansas to Phillip & Georgiana (Nault) Odette. He passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at his residence in Clyde, Kansas at the age of 97. Raymond married Mabel Perkins on June 30, 1945 in Nebraska. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1997. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Clyde and a farmer and trucker his entire life, up until his passing. He is survived by his son: Randy Odette & wife Mary, Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Mark Jones & wife Robyn, Richardson, TX, Philip Odette, Wichita, KS, Aaron Odette, Wichita, KS, John Odette, Wichita, KS, Jessica Clanton, Ft. Worth, TX, Marial Odette, Wichita, KS, Gabby Odette, Wichita, KS & Joy Odette, Wichita, KS; great grandchildren: Hayley Jones, Richardson, TX & Aiden Clanton, Ft. Worth, TX & son in law: Larry Jones, Clyde, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel; daughter, Nancy Jones; son, Marc Sklenicka; brother, LaVern Odette; sister, Helen Chouteau & his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wed., Dec. 1, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Tues. at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
