Robert D. "Bob" Nelson, age 92, left this earthly life on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia.  He was born on May 19, 1926 in Jamestown, Kansas to Harry and Violet (Nystrom) Nelson.

He married Ruby Cordwell on June 27, 1947 in Concordia and she preceded him on Jan. 8, 2010.  Bob was a lifelong area resident and farmer.  He served on the Jamestown School Board and Jamestown Co-op Board.

Bob truly enjoyed his horses, farming and reading western books.

He is survived by his children, Vicki Demars (Dave), Concordia Kenny Nelson, Brad Nelson (Sherry) and Kathy Hajny (Brad),  all of Jamestown.

Grandchildren, Jason Demars (Nicki), Abilene; Curtis Demars (Emily), Salina; Debbie Sterrett (Damon), Scott Demars and Jeff Nelson (Nicole) all of Concordia; Julie Crowley (James), Tongonoxie, Crystal Lieb (Trevor) Courtland and Corey Nelson (Krystal), Clyde, Mark Nelson (Starla) and Bret Nelson (Tracie) all of Jamestown and Nicole Brown, Ashland; Stephanie Pate, Beloit.

Great-grandchildren, Dustin and Drew Sterrett, Bethany, Noah, Grace and Leah Demars, Colt and Chloe Demars, Irelynn Demars; Makayla, Olivia and Kaitlyn Nelson, Emilie and Alex Crowley, Erica and Elise Lieb, Gunnar and Hagen Nelson; Mara and Harper Nelson, Braelyn and Zane Nelson; Pate and Jace Brown; and a sister, Ev Batts, Salina.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents and an infant granddaughter, Michelle Lee Demars, sister, Donna Hanson Lehne.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 18, 2019 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Hale officiating.  Burial will follow at the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 1-8 pm Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
