Robert L. Eakins, 69 years of age, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on June 29, 1942 in Concordia to Arthur and Eva (Caraveau) Eakins. Robert attended Concordia High School. He served his country in the United States Navy from August 3, 1959 to August 2, 1965. Robert married Kay Chandler on June12, 1966 in Concordia.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Sam Eakins and wife Brenda of Burr Oak; four grandchildren, Amber, Cordell, Lainee, Noah; brother, Richard Eakins and wife Eunice of Concordia; sister, Sue Cannon and husband Jim of Wamego; sister-in-law, Martha Eakins of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Art Eakins.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 13, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor L. Dean Thompson officiating and Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation will be from noon – 8 PM Sunday, February 12, 2012 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home.
