Robert "Bobby" R. Keiser, age 87, died Thurs., Oct. 9, 2014 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. He was born on Feb. 8, 1927 in Omaha, NE and was adopted at 14 months old by loving parents, Arnie & Tilly (Hanson) Keiser. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Norway, KS.
Bobby attended country schools in rural Jamestown, KS and completed the 8
th
grade. He worked as a dairy farmer on the family farm near Jamestown. He was an athlete in the Kansas Special Olympics and enjoyed bowling with the RCW Club. Bobby was heavily involved with ARC, a local organization for people with special challenges, which was started by Bea Lewis and became known as 'Bea's Kids'.
In his later years, Bobby was a resident of Sunset Nursing Home in Concordia. He served as a volunteer and greeter for the Cloud County Historical Museum, since moving to Concordia for almost 20 years.
Bobby is survived by several cousins & a host of friends in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles & a number of cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Tues., Oct. 14, 2014 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. David Strommen officiating. Burial will follow at the Danish Lutheran Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be from 12 to 9 pm, with a gathering for family & friends from 6-7 pm, Mon. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Bobby requested that memorials be given to the Cloud County Museum.
