Robert W. Wilson was born Nov. 17, 1922 in Topeka, KS to O. Ward & Sarah (Royer) Wilson. He passed from this life on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Westview Manor, Derby, KS at the age of 86. Robert graduated from Concordia High School. He served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. Robert worked 40 years for the Caldwell Shoe Co., 12 of those years as the manager before retiring in 1984. Robert married Jane Lundy on March 7, 1948 at the First United Methodist in Concordia, KS. Jane preceded him in death on May 3, 2005. Robert was member of the First Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge #1428, a lifetime American Legion Post #76 member, a former ELKS Lodge member and a past president of the Concordia Chamber of Commerce. Robert is survived by his sons, Steve Wilson & wife Diane, Derby, KS & Scott Wilson & wife Charlene, Topeka, KS; sisters, Ruth Ann Schwartz, Mount Kisco, NY & Mary Irvin, Americus, KS; grandchildren, Cameron Wilson & wife Sara, Derby, KS, Emily Wilson, Kansas City, MO, Derek Wilson, Kansas City, MO & Jenny Wilson, Kansas City, MO & great grandchildren, Natalie & Hallie Wilson, Derby, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; daughter, Susan Jane Wilson; & his parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Concordia with Rev. Helen Moore-Schroeder & Pastor Bob Gleason officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family receiving friends from 7-8 PM, Wed., April 29, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church.
