Ron L. Cossel was born on June 10, 1948 in Spokane, WA to Ken Cossel & Virginia Smith. He passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 16, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC at the age of 61. Ron attended school in Concordia, KS. He joined the US Marine Corp in 1968 and served 2 tours in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart and the RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm & Frame. Ron was a diesel mechanic for Delaval diesel repair across the country and he also worked as a mechanic for Kling Ford in Concordia. Ron was a member of the VFW. Ron also worked for the City of Belleville at the Power Plant and then later operated Ron's 36 filling station. He is survived by his sons: Clint Boling & wife Kim, Phoenix, AZ, Kyle Cossel, Nashville, TN & Kip Cossel & wife Melissa, Nashville, TN; daughter: Kristina Kuebler & husband Rick, Topeka, KS; brothers: Wally Cossel & wife Pat, San Antonio, TX, K. Wayne (Butch) Cossel & wife Liz, Golden City, MO & Terry Cossel & wife Karen, Beatrice, NE; sisters: Kennda Eis & husband Chuck, Milwaukee, WI, Dee Marshall & husband Bill, Abilene, KS & Kathy Ashland & husband Gary, Concordia, KS & 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken Cossel & Jim & Virginia Allen & a niece, Jeri Eis. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Wed., Dec. 30, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. The body was cremated and friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tues., Dec. 29, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services with Military Honors by the US Marine Corp at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Ron Cossel Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
