Ronald Dean Davis, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 5, 2026, after suffering a health emergency. Born on January 4, 1950, in Lawrence, Kansas, Ronald was a beacon of love and laughter to all who knew him. Ronald was the beloved son of Claudina Hope Davis and was raised by his grandparents and adoptive parents, James Madison "Matt" Davis and Charlotte Fern Davis. He was predeceased by his son, Sean Michael William Davis, his wife Brenda Davis, and his brothers Max, Lowell, and Jim Davis.

He is survived by his daughters, Ronda Davis of Kansas City, MO, and Leslie McIntire (Brian) of Smiths Station, AL. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kevin (Sheena) McIntire of Opelika, AL; Sean Williams of Salina, KS; Ashlee (Blake) Cureton of Hamilton, GA; and Erin (Chris) Parker of Salem, AL. Ronald was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: James, Kasey, Steven, and Jackson McIntire; Paxton and Camden Cureton. His sister, Ella Vaughn Melander, also survives him.

Ronald's journey began in Minneapolis, Kansas, where he graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1968. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for ten years, a testament to his dedication and love for his country. In the 1990s, he attended NCK Vo-Tech, earning a welding certificate, showcasing his commitment to continual learning and personal growth.

Over the years, Ronald built a diverse career. He worked for the Southern Pacific railroad, owned and operated "The Snack Bar" in Minneapolis, KS, and was a dedicated employee at Tony's Pizza Service. He eventually retired as a Rural Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Ronald was an active member of several community organizations, including American Legion Post #76 in Concordia, KS, and the ABATE District #9. He was also involved with the American Legion Riders and the Eagle Riders in Junction City, KS, and a past member of the Delphos Lions Club. Through these organizations, he forged lasting friendships and made significant contributions to his community.

His hobbies reflected his generous spirit and love for life. Ronald delighted in dressing as Santa Claus during the Christmas season, bringing joy to countless children and families. He also participated in Cloud County Toy Run for several years, embodying the true spirit of giving.

Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's life. He married Karen Claboe on August 28, 1971, and they welcomed three children, though they faced the heartbreak of losing their son, Sean, after four months. Ronald and Karen parted ways in 1987. He later found love with Leanna Winstead, marrying her in 1995 before they too went their separate ways. In March 2005, Ronald married Brenda Mikesell, and they spent over 16 years together until her passing in October 2021.

The family will host a celebration of Ron’s life on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the American Legion Post #76 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. A private family burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas at a later time.

Ronald’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and kindness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
