Ronald A. Racette, 88 years of age, of Clyde, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde. He was born on February 12, 1925 in St. Joseph to Delphos and Emma (Pelland) Racette. Ronald married Maxine Girard on January 26, 1948 in St. Joseph. He was a farmer/stockman all of his life. Ronald was always very dedicated to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde, Knights of Columbus, and a past member of the Lions Club in Clyde.
Ronald is survived by 3 sons, Daniel (LaDona) Racette of Louisa, Virginia, David (Carolyn) Racette of Canon City, Colorado, Jerry (Diane) Racette of West Townsend, Massachusetts; 2 daughters, Pauline (Stephen) Pearce of Wells, Jayne (Kevin) Gunn of Manhattan; 16 grandchildren, Tami (Dave) Ludwig, Marc (Dana) Racette, Jim (Lana) Racette, Suzanne (Jason) Gowdy, Aaron (Havilah) Racette, Michelle (Dominic) LaFauci, Christin Racette, Jared Racette, Amy (Ian) Newlin, Lori (Rick) Peterson, Brian (Denali) Pearce, Matthew Dowell, Morgan (Caleb) Enoch, Meghan Dowell, Brandon Gunn, Tiffany (David) Heyd; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Romanus "Bob" (Shirley) Racette of Loveland, Colorado; sister, Darlene Weatherhead of Clyde; 2 sisters-in-law, Virginia Racette of Clyde, JoAnn Dalton of Clay Center; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Maxine on August 30, 1995; son, Stephen; 2 brothers, Wilbur and Eldon; and a sister, Wilma Jean Weatherhead.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Clyde. Visitation will be held from noon to 5 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at Chaput Mortuary in Clyde. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice to be designated at a future date in care of the mortuary.
