Obituary

Rosalie V. Grounds, age 85, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born on August 31, 1935 in Jamestown, KS.

She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1953. She married Stanley A. Grounds on Aug. 15, 1954 near Jamestown, KS. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2014. She and Stanley lived in Lawndale, CA until Stanley's retirement in 1996 and they returned to Concordia, KS. Rosalie worked for See's Candy as a line-worker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society in Concordia.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Sandra) Grounds, Hillsboro, OR; daughter, Beth Spataro, Chantilly, VA; grandchildren, Lisa Tsyvine & Laura Spataro, Matthew & Mark Grounds & Alexis Sparrow; great grandchild, Elli Henderson & a sister, Dorothy Sharp, Clyde.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Houghton, Lola Houghton; a daughter, Patricia Grounds; 3 sisters, Vivian Almon, Audrey Hayden & Madeline Demars and a brother Charles Houghton.

The family selected cremation and Memorial services will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Private family burial will be at Glasco Cemetery. Friends may sign the register book from 9 am to 5 pm, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 and the family will greet friends for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
