She was a member of
St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters for 30 years.
Rose was a homemaker, and worked at the
St. Joseph
's Hospital for a number of years.
In her spare time she was a well-known talented seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her parents, George and Emma (Cardinal) L'Ecuyer; two brothers; five sisters; son-in-law, J.E. (Ernie) Hamel; and one great-granddaughter.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Arlene Hamel of Russell, Kansas, and Carolyn and husband, Duane Nickerson of Omaha, Nebraska;
son, Rex Harper and wife, Jolene of Concordia, Kansas; sister, Mae and husband, Mike Baba of Wichita, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other relatives.
A Mass of Christian burial was at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, at
St. John
the
Baptist
Church
in
Clyde
,
Kansas
, with Father Larry Letourneau officiating.
Interment was in the St. Mary's
Catholic
Cemetery
,
Clifton
,
Kansas
.
Visitation was 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Chaput Mortuary,
Clyde
,
Kansas
. A Parish Rosary was held at 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, at
St. John
the
Baptist
Church
in
Clyde
,
Kansas
, with Father Larry Letourneau officiating.
Visitation continued until 8:00 p.m. at the Church on Sunday.
