Rose Marietta Pearce, Topeka, Kansas, formerly from Beloit, passed from this life to meet her Lord and Savior on September 20, 2014, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 86 years. Rose was the fifth of eleven children born to Francis George and Mary Ann (Ottley) Budke, on November 24, 1927, at Beloit,. Kansas. She grew up on a farm outside of Beloit, Kansas, with her four brother and seven sisters.
She attended grade school at a small country school, St. Prairies Flowers, and graduated high school. She later moved to Salina, Kansas, where she met Dale Clifford Pearce. On September 20, 1955, they were united in marriage and together raised eight children - Cathy Pearce of Topeka, Cindy Huffman of Topeka, Mary Ann (Les) Kennedy of Delberton, West Virginia, Perry Pearce of Concordia, Kansas, Sharon Birch of Andover, Kansas, Debbie (Gary) Hughes of Overland Park, Kansas, Kevin(Cyndy) Pearce of Glasco, Kansas, Betty Ann (Frank) Hacker of Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Rose worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Concordia, Kansas, as a CNA for sixteen years and then continued her life's work of caring for the sick and elderly at Nazarene Mother House in Concordia, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her much loved husband on November 9, 2005, her parents, and several siblings.
Rose is survived by her eight children; seventeen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters - Theresa (Bob) Berndt of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Mary Nelson of Little Rock, Arkansas; two brothers - Francis Budke, Kansas City, Missouri, and Bill (Leona) Budke of Leavenworth, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Wed. Sept. 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am to 9 pm with a Vigil service at 6 pm, Tues., Sept. 23 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Midland Care, Topeka in care of the funeral home.
