Ross E. Jones was born on Sept. 20, 1924 in Cloud County, Kansas to Glen & Isabelle (Hinson) Jones. He passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, KS at the age of 84. Ross served in the US Army. He married Geneva M. Dunphy on Dec. 31, 1950 in Concordia, KS. She preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1990. He managed and operated the Shady Lake Motel for over 40 years. He also worked as maintenance for The Baptist Church, Concordia. He is survived by a brother: James R. Jones, Glendale, AZ & several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva; his parents and 5 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wed., Jan. 14, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor David Fabarez officiating. Burial with military honors by VFW #588 & American Legion Post 376 will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM, Tues., Jan. 13, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Ross E. Jones Memorial.
