Ruby E. Conn was born on Jan. 9, 1927 in Bostwick, Nebraska to Earl & Kathryn (Morgan) Parsons. She passed from this life on Tues., Nov. 17, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia at the age of 82. Ruby graduated from Jamestown High School. She married Clair Conn on June 1, 1946 in Belleville, KS. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1991. Ruby & Clair managed the dining rooms at the Concordia Country Club, Eagle's Club, Elks Club & later operated a café in Jamestown. Ruby was a member of the American Legion & VFW Ladies auxiliaries, Ladies of the Moose, Red Hat Society, Jolly Mixers and a few additional single's groups. Ruby also volunteered with Special Olympics. Ruby and Clair always enjoyed dancing & she continued dancing after Clair''s death. She is survived by her sons: Danny Conn & wife Vickie, Concordia, KS & Jim Conn & wife Deanna, Concordia, KS; daughter: Betty Martin, Jamestown, KS; sisters: Donna Lefort, Salina, KS, Sandra Pae & husband Fred, Grandbury, TX & Mary Newton & husband Rex, Springdale, AR; brothers: Raymond Parsons & wife Arlee Mae, Persia, IA & Delbert Parsons & wife Sandy, Bartlett, IL; 6 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair; daughter, Sharon Kay Conn; great granddaughter, Destiny; parents; 3 sisters & 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Mon., Nov. 23, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Parsons officiating. Visitation will be from 1-9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Sun., Nov. 22, 2009. Burial will follow at the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Ruby Conn Memorial to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
