Ruth Ann Palmquist Cozine, age 90, passed away at Sunset Home, Concordia, Kansas on May 14, 2013. She was born the fourth and youngest child of Albert and Althea (Ganstrom) Palmquist of rural Concordia on Dec. 16, 1922.

Ruth graduated from Concordia High School and was a member of the Concordia Baptist Church. She married Elbert Cozine in 1948. They farmed and raised their sons, Mark and Timothy, near Independence, Kansas from 1950 to 1964. The family returned to Concordia to farm until their retirement. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and truly enjoyed her many friends and family throughout her life.

She is survived by her son Mark and daughter-in-law Judy, Valley Center; three grandchildren, Brian Cozine, Wichita, Tracy Cozine & husband Casey Neill, Portland, OR & Jeff Cozine, Jupiter, FL, and one great grandson, Alex Cozine, Wichita. She is also survived by sister-in-law Frances Palmquist of Concordia.

She is preceded in death by her son Timothy, in 1967 and Elbert, her husband of 54 years, in 2003; brothers, Robert & Reuben Palmquist & sister, Ruby Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Mon., May 20, 2013 at The Baptist Church with Dennis Knapp officiating. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 12-8 pm with the family greeting from 6-8 pm Sun. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Sunset Home or The Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
