Ruth Ann Jones, 74 years of age, of Topeka, formerly of Concordia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. She was born in Rice on August 3, 1939 to Levi and Lena (Donnelly) Doyen. Ruth Ann graduated from Concordia High School in 1957. She was formerly married to Gerald Jones and Dennis Cohn. Ruth Ann was currently a licensed insurance agent for Shelter Insurance in Topeka. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Xi Beta Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and Women of the Moose.

Ruth Ann is survived by a close personal friend, Dennis Cohn of Topeka; daughter, Debra Jasperson and husband Randy of Newton; son, Jason Jones and Melissa Bradley of Concordia; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Jasperson and wife Megan, Stacy Herwig and husband Chris, Tanner Jones, Trentin Jones; 4 great grandchildren, Carter and Ella Jasperson, Caden and Emma Herwig; brother, Larry Doyen of Salina; sister, Fern Waters of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Katherine Marie; brother-in-law, Keith Waters; and an aunt, Belva Morgan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 in the First Christian Church in Concordia with Rev. Jeff Nielsen officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Sunday, October 20, 2013 with family greeting friends from 3 to 5 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Concordia in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
