Obituary

Ruth D. Pearce was born on Sept. 13, 1924 in Aurora, KS to Albert & Elvina (Chavey) Adam. She passed from this life on Sat., Aug. 13, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 86. Ruth attended Woodruff Country School and later received her GED from Cloud Co. Comm. College. She married William Pearce on Jan. 2, 1947 in Aurora, KS. She was a homemaker. Ruth was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and St. Anne's Guild. Ruth is survived by her sons: Stan Pearce & wife Judy, Cherokee, KS, Stephen Pearce & wife Polly, Wells, KS & Scott Pearce, Park City, KS; daughters: Sandra Lyne & husband LeRoy, Oak Hill, KS, Sheryl Flesher, Manhattan, KS, Susan Schmidt & husband Jim, Elk City, OK, Shelley Shivers & husband William, Clay Center, KS & Sharon Pearce, Plano, TX; sisters: Bernice Stoffel, IA & Doris McCrory, Arlington, TX; 16 grandchildren & 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William on Aug. 10, 2007; her parents; grandson, Robert Flesher; brother, Joseph Adam & sister, MaeAnn Bauer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Tues, Aug. 16, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-8 PM with a Parish Rosary at 4 PM and Vigil services at 7 PM, Mon. at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde and the family will greet friends at the mortuary following the vigil services. Burial will follow the Mass in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
