Sadie Jean Ross Goddard Stein was born April 28, 1927, the youngest child of Clyde Adam Ross & Florence Avida (Denny) Ross of Concordia, KS. She passed from this world after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, at Nicol Home, Glasco, KS on Sat, July 24, 2010 at the age of 83. Sadie married Wilfred Wayne Goddard on April 16, 1948 in Concordia, KS. To this union, three children were born; Joyce, Jerry & Denice "Denny". Wayne died Sept. 2, 1964 after sudden cardiac arrest while serving as sheriff of Cloud County. Sadie married Raymond Stein in Concordia, KS on Jan. 16, 1966 and to their union, Lisa & Michael Stein were born. Raymond & Sadie made their home in Beloit, KS until Sadie's placement in Nicol Home. She was a homemaker. Sadie was preceded in death by her parents & first husband; 2 brothers, Everitt of Belleville, KS & Leo of Harrisonville, MO & their spouses; sister, Geneva Amspacker & spouse of Concordia, KS & one great grandson, Jackson Dean Goddard of Glasco, KS. Sadie leaves to mourn her passing, Raymond & Michael Stein & wife Christie of rural Miltonvale, KS, Lisa Ann Stein of Beloit, KS, Joyce Mizell & husband Jack of rural Galva, KS, Jerry Goddard & wife, Pat, Glasco, KS & Denice Collins of Canton, KS. Sadie was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren & was great grandma to 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor L. Dean Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-9 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Assoc. in care of the funeral home.
