Shirley Lee McGinnis-Ewing was born October 11, 1919 in Rural Glasco, KS to Ernest Lyle and Lelia Viola Brooks Stortz.  She passed away from this life on October 14, 2007, at Sunset Nursing Home at the age of 88.  S he attended country schools. She married Dale McGinnis on March 19, 1942 in Belleville, KS. They farmed near Hollis for many years before moving to Concordia in 1971 at retirement. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1979. She later married Charles R. Ewing on February 9, 1987. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1994. She was a lifelong homemaker/ farm wife. She was a member of the VFW Post #588 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her brother Olin Stortz and wife Maryjo, Concordia, KS; a sister Retha Neff, Glasco, KS; and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday and until service time on Wednesday the casket will remain closed.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the VFW Post #588.
